Stearns Child's Classic Boating Vest, Red August 30, 2010 J. Perkins This was great for my daughter whose weight is in the mid-30s. Although she doesn't swim yet, she feels comfortable going anywhere in a pool when she is wearing it, and it holds her up comfortably. It's US Coast Guard approved, which is nice. I thought the top strap was a little short, and wonder if it will fit her comfortably at 50 pounds.
Boating best a good product August 10, 2010 Nancy The users are two boys--a two-year old and a four-year old. They wore the vests without complaint, which is good.
I'm going to get the next size Stearns vests as the grand kids grow. I'm also going to get adult vests because the design seems to be so functional and they are coast-guard approved.
Good product! August 5, 2010 Dinesh Srikakolapu The reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is it looks good and also fit well. But, after I put it on my 3 yr old son, I noticed that he is slightly off balanced and more often than not, he is falling backwards. I expected it to make him stay afloat - in standing position (lower body under the water and upper body above the water).
Perhaps, it could be my (mis)understanding. Perhaps it was not designed that way. Perhaps, my 3 yr old son doesn't know how to hold his position.
Nevertheless, it is a very good product and I would definitely
recommend it.
Stearns Child's Classic Boating Vest July 23, 2010 James L. Hatch (Texas, USA) I'm using the vest with a 43 pound boy. It fits great, and he seems to be very comfortable in it.
Excellent Life Jackets June 24, 2010 Citizen John (USA) These lifejackets have everything you'd wish for such as a connecting belt between the legs, a choice of bright identifying colors, easy-to-use buckles and good floatation. There are 4 buckles including the bottom one. My guess is this boating vest is optimal at about 40 pounds. My two children can continue to grow and use them next season.
The outside material is strong, indicating these vests should last a long time. They're not heavy and thus easy to carry. The price seemed reasonable and I'd recommend them for children 30 pounds to 50 pounds.
