Claims to protect against UV light, it does not! August 2, 2010 Chad Mcelravy (Pittsburgh, PA, USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this product to protect my canvas gazebo from sun damage. I have a 10' x 13' canvas over aluminum frame gazebo that needed a replacement canopy after 2 years in my yard. The new canopy cost just over $100. I purchased the 32oz bottle of this 303 product hoping to get an extra year or 2 out of the canopy.
I have my doubts that this product is prolonging the life of the canopy. Here is why. I applied the product on only 3 sides(1 long,2 short) of the canopy because I ran out and did not want to spend another $30(I may have over-applied). It is now 4 months later and I can visually see no difference between the "protected" sides and the unprotected side. They are all equally (very) faded.
If I cannot tell the difference at an advanced stage of fading as this, I do not see the sense in wasting my money on this ever again.
A life saver July 7, 2010 paddyboyfloyd I have a late model convertible ('96 saab) and my top used to leak badly. I tried other products and nothing can compare to the quality of waterproofing that this gives - I no longer have any leaks whatsoever. I usually apply it in 2 coats and then make sure I haven't missed any spots and so far I've averaged about 3-4 months in b/w applications - I live in Central Florida and we get frequent afternoon thunderstorms and I've had the car sitting out in a extremely heavy rain for a couple of hours and it still didn't leak.
Worth the few extra bucks to protect an investment!!! May 11, 2010 Mandy Street (Tomahawk, WI) I had a "canvas" type of gazebo that only lasted me about 2-3 years because of mildew problems, water would leak through, and just looked like junk after even just the first summer from sun fading. So when I found the 303 formula and read up on it, I decided to try it. It works beautifully!!! Now, when it rains, you literally see the water bead up and roll right off, so you can tell there is a strong barrier there protecting my NEW gazebo from the harsh affects of the UV, water protecting it, guarding from mildew etc. The only downfall in my view, is that it does need to be re-applied once every 3 months roughly. But really that's not so bad. Once everyone saw how it was working on our gazebo, my significant other went and bought 2 bottles, 1 for our boat cover, and one for the truck cover, my parents went and bought a few bottles for their patio furniture, patio furniture covers and patio umbrella. So we're all quite happy with our purchase(s). I would recomend this product to anyone that wants their outdoor things protected. (My mom even used some on her silk hanging floral baskets, we'll see how it works with that as well!)
It really works 303High Tech Fabric Guard April 8, 2010 C. Brandin (Tujunga CA) I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse convertible top looked okay but when it rained it poured inside, not from the seals but from the canvas top, so I just never drove it in the rain. But when I read the reviews about this product I decided to try it, I really doubted that it would work but I followed all the instructions in about a week later before a rainstorm, I picked up the hose and soaked the car top down and checked inside everything was dry, The water beaded up and just rolled off, amazing. Anyway when the rain came and took it out on the freeway on the way to work still a little doubtful to, but it stayed completely dry this stuff really works. I am sold.
Show Car Quality February 6, 2010 Rich C (Rwd City CA) I was preparing my 1934 Chevy Phaeton, appraised @ $150.000, for the West Coast Nationals car show in Pomona CA. The vehicle was completely restored 12 years ago. Although the car has been kept up to a show quality, it is driven to outdoor shows where it sits in the sun for several hours every weekend in the summer. The roof was constructed with Mercedes convertible material in black.
I cleaned and then protected the roof with High tech Convertible cleaner and two coates of Fabric Guard.
The results were outstanding. Took 2nd place at Pomona. Do I need to say anymore?
